Introduction: Aging is an inevitable process accompanied by numerous structural and functional changes in the neuromuscular system. These changes include a decrease in muscle mass and strength, known as sarcopenia, which affects the quality of life in the elderly. Methods: In this study, by searching for keywords related to sarcopenia and aging in Persian and English databases such as Normags, Magiran, PubMed, etc. Relevant articles were selected and analyzed. Results: The review results indicated that various types of exercise could have a positive impact on the prevention and improvement of sarcopenia. Among the types of exercises, resistance training had the greatest effect on individual health and reducing the complications of sarcopenia. Conclusion: Physical activity should be emphasized as part of the lifestyle of the elderly. Timely diagnosis and treatment of sarcopenia can significantly improve the quality of life of the elderly.
